They must have felt me
radiating warmth
from the heat of smiles
that burned from inner flames
and felt the need to crawl
out from under cold
unforgiven eves
all 8 legs hungry
chelicerae twitching
spinnerets eager
to weave silken webs
in hopes to catch easy prey
'round and 'round the spokes
they spin
pot-stirring prophets
beckoning for fools
to feast at their poisoned tables
Fool me once shame on you
Fool me twice... well,
I've already befriended my own ghost
who showed me what that future would hold.
So I dust away the cobwebs
and squash them with my rhinestone boots.
