explain it to me again

a child's view on love

By Catt GraysonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

What color are we?

White skin blue eyes red hair.

Tan skin brown eyes black hair.

What color is our blood?

All of it is red

Or blue, depending on your viewpoint.

What color is our love?

They say it’s orange and white and pink.

They say it’s pink and purple and blue.

They say it’s pink and yellow and blue.

They never say why it matters.

Skin is skin,

Eyes are eyes,

Hair is hair,

Blood is blood,

Love is love.

But the colors matter because they are what make us

Beautiful.

The blood matters because it’s what lets us

Survive.

And the love matters because it’s what lets us

Live.

Yet no matter the color, we are all the

Same.

No matter the blood, we are all

Family.

No matter the love, we are all

Loved.
