A Poem

Exhaustion

Lying in bed, your alarm goes off.

You grab your phone and silence it.

But you don’t get up, sit up.

You don’t even move.

The exhaustion pulls you down.

Not the kind your body feels.

The kind that seeps into your mind.

The kind where everything is overwhelming.

You try to open your eyes, but can’t.

So you pull the blanket closer to you.

Still hearing the rain sounds playing on your TV.

You continue to lay in bed, drifting in and out of sleep.

Wondering if you’ll ever start your day.

But it’s okay if you don’t.

We all need a break.

Great poem! I definitely felt this today but I don't think the single digit temperatures helped any. Loved this!
