So many visions I want to expose,

With simple strokes & bold colors

But I cannot will my brush to canvas.

So many words I want to claim,

in sentences that run too long,

but the ink won’t stain my papyrus.

I can see dry land,

I can grip the paddles against blisters,

but I cannot steer the canoe.

I can create a feast for kings,

flavors of generations,

filled with splendor,

but I cannot get the water to boil.

I can scribe endless prose

and stories of vivid imagination,

yet I cannot even finish a simple list of tasks.

sad poetry
