A Poem

Everyday at the same time he shows up.

Uninvited but expected.

I think he knows this, so he is there.

If he wasn’t there, I think I would choke.

Choke on my nerves, my nerves that would be shot

If he wasn’t there.

Everyday at the same time.

Invading my space, invading my all.

He is there.

Sometimes he looks at me, most times he looks away.

I pretend he’s not there and I go about my day.

But everyday he is there.

I know I could easily send him away, but I need him.

I need him there, everyday.

So there he will stay, in my space.

In my mind, in my head.
