Every Night

An experimental poem

Every Night

As though my existence is coming out through my eyes

the hammer and chisel is taken to the shell of a clam,

closed up with something within though nobody knows what.

A transparent nerve screamed through with electricity shouts

"I can't sleep, I can't eat..." and "It's killing me..."

Though the audience stay silent and wait for the drama to stop

as the curtain falls and I shuffle away on my back.

Drained of spirit - I am a ghost who haunts the play each night.

There's no encore and so I run an inch away from the hounds

- my legs tremble as the anvil clenched to my brain hits the floor

and shatters. There are bruises on my arms though nobody

can see who or what has hit them. They are reddened as the

blood comes to the surface, aching and exhausting with curses.

The constant curse is a lime on my kitchen table, sliced in half

and shot through with a toothpick and a raspberry.

The lime squeezes out the last of its juice and the raspberry has

grown moudly. The toothpick snaps in half - the ruin is complete.

My hands tighten as I remember that there is one night left

again and again and again.

And every night since.

I have been suffering from Herpes for the past 1 years and 8 months, and ever since then I have been taking series of treatment but there was no improvement until I came across testimonies of Dr. Silver on how he has been curing different people from different diseases all over the world, then I contacted him as well. After our conversation he sent me the medicine which I took according to his instructions. When I was done taking the herbal medicine I went for a medical checkup and to my greatest surprise I was cured from Herpes. My heart is so filled with joy. If you are suffering from Herpes or any other disease you can contact Dr. Silver today on this Email address: [email protected]

Your poem vividly portrays the overwhelming sensation of exhaustion and emotional turmoil. The imagery is striking and powerful, capturing the reader’s attention and evoking a deep sense of empathy and connection to the raw emotions you express. It's a moving and impactful piece.

I'm with L.K. Rolan. That image of the lime was like something out of a surrealist film. Just check the line fourth from the end again too. I think if you cast your eye over it, you'll see.

Oh, this one hits deep! Haunting, raw, and beautifully crafted. That clam metaphor? Chef’s kiss. And the lime and raspberry? Unexpectedly powerful. Feels like a never-ending loop of exhaustion, and I felt every bit of it. Brilliantly done!✨ Congrats on your Top Story 🎉
