Evenings Hush
As the evening settles, day loosening its grip,
a quiet presses in. I didn’t know I needed.
The sky darkens slowly, not dramatic,
just honest, like it’s tired of pretending.
Shadows across the road, stretching where we stand,
and even the smallest light seems to carry weight.
We walk without rushing, the air close against our skin,
our laughter uneven, real,
falling into the open space around us.
stacked without care,easy to break,
hard to forget. The night smells familiar,
earth and distance and something unnamed,
I let myself drift there, unguarded.
In the quiet between words,
I hold your eyes longer than planned,
and for once nothing asks more of us.
Time loosens, lets us slip through,
and we stay exactly where we are.
the time right now for us two.
lovers with permition to be at one.
