Even stars die sometime

Will anything remain?

Even stars die sometime

Ceaselessly, time tears everything apart

Light itself is old and gone when our eyes glimpse it

Infinity is a word we use to deflect from endings

Pushing back against the unstoppable tick, yet words cannot contain.

Sirius shines, then is lost to us

Everything disappears, even dust.

Something so suffused with hopelessness should not be so beautiful ☺

A cosmic eclipse! Good luck in the challenge!

  • This is wonderful - infinity somehow always gave me the creeps - made my brain hurt - I feel better thinking of it as a disguise :)

Wow. Such a beautiful and tragic way to think about time. I like the idea of using infinity to avoid thinking about endings. That’s powerful

Each line is poignantly profound. I especially loved: "Infinity is a word we use to deflect from endings." Lovely poem. ❤️

This should place. I dunno...this just made me think...made me feel and was so well woven together, you could forget it was acrostic and just sit and bask in its deepness! Well done, Joe!

  • This was extremely profound! Loved your Acrostic!

Beautiful poem. I love the sweeping scope of it. I feel like you just gave us a picture of the universe, from its grand scale to the smallest mote of debris.

    "Even dust!" Lovely acrostic.
