Even Dogs Wait for Santa

Then with cheer they wave goodbye

Even Dogs Wait for Santa

By the fire, the puppies lay,

Dreaming of Santa on Christmas Day.

Their tails wag with every sound,

Hoping his sleigh is coming ‘round.

A squeaky toy, a tasty treat,

A cozy blanket to warm their feet.

They’ve been good, no shoes were chewed,

(Well, maybe one—but it was new!)

The stockings hung, the tree aglow,

Paws on the window, watching snow.

They’ll wait all night, loyal and true,

For Santa Paws to come on through.

So leave a snack for the man in red,

And maybe some biscuits by your bed.

For even dogs know the joy and cheer

That Santa brings this time of year.

Outside they go to say goodbye,

Santa waves as his sleigh goes by.

“See you next year!” they bark with glee,

Santa waves, “Yes, certainly!”
