Let me sleep

Dear moon, eternal sun of the night,

Tonight let me rest from this fight.

I call to you to let me sleep tonight,

Set my misery and troubles right,

If only just for one night.

You are the lantern when there is no sun,

While we yearn for the sun in the middle of the night,

You deliver, and I hope you grant a wish.

Let me be empty and weightless, free of guilt and shame,

Let me feel like I have no burden or blame.

Eternal sun of the endless night,

Grant my wish to let me sleep tonight,

Your lovely glow I send my prayers to,

And hope you let sleep carry my weight tonight.

This is so well received Sid, an eternal blessing from the moon for nightly rest to awaken us to bright new days. I hope for many of these for you and all of us. Happy rest and renewal for the holidays and onwards.

Such a soothing and dreamy piece! It feels like a moonlit hug for the soul 🌙 beautifully done! Love how you made the moon feel like a gentle therapist of the night.

What's in the moon that keeps us up all night, tossing and turning and ruminating about stuff, event hings that happened decades ago? I wish I could get a rest from it, too sometimes. Hope the moon listened to you and you had a good sleep. :)

The metaphor of the moon as the “eternal sun of the night” is poetic brilliance. It transforms darkness into comfort, turning despair into something luminous.

Ah, ballads. Sung to the moon as she relaxes and sends peace down to your soul Sid. Be well and blessed

💃🏾I can almost hear the instruments in the background. But don't ask me which ones, I won't be able to tell. 🌔I just know that in the first line, the musical elements were very clear. 💃🏾It is almost as if all the end words — had high notes. 🌕The second line. I relate to, deeply. I've been battling myself. Anger mostly. 💃🏾So it's a ballad. I don't think I've read many ballads on here. So this was a lovely treat. 🌔I really enjoyed when 'sun' at the end, almost calmed the rhythm. 💃🏾The moon as the sun we yearn for in the middle of the night. Oh I love that. That's such an original take. Outstanding work, Sid 🤗❤️🖤
