The color is black which means death, fear, authority, evilness, intimidation, aggression and rebellion
BUT I am black
I won’t lie and say that it doesn't make me feel trapped
It tastes like yellow, bittersweet. Makes me think incomplete
The smell of pain, it's inhumane
Sounds like the wave of the blue ocean as the beige and grey, shackles and ropes take away
It looks like strain and death in vein
The whites are scared so they disrespect and drain
They want control, so they maintain
Not caring so much, it drives us insane
I am black
a black girl with no shame, a symbol of greatness to obtain
Again, I am black. But my shade is brown.
But that's the beauty in it. We got all the colors and beautiful shades, spread around-- listen to it:
Black, brown, midnight, cedar, grease, cinnamon, sable, brunette, obsidian, mocha, ebony, umber, ink, tortilla, onyx, chocolate, jet black, syrup, jade, gingerbread, crow, caramel, raven, walnut, pitch, pecan, coal, wood, spider, hickory, charcoal, espresso, oil, peanut, soot, tawny, metal, coffee, leather, and russett
We are taught to degrade but I choose break down and re-frame
Black may seem negative, but it’s a tool.
It’s required for all colors to have depth and variation of hue
The color is black associated with strength, power, mystery, elegance, formality, and sophistication
