ER EVAC

as the terminator said, "I'll be back"

By Margaret BrennanPublished about a year ago 1 min read

This is a short poem to say

That I must hurriedly be going away.

We've gotten the order to lock up and leave.

*

The wind and rain will be bad enough.

The rising water, though will be too tough.

We have no idea how high it will be.

(the prediction is about 10 feet of surge)

*

So in a few hours, I'll bid a farewell

As the tide in the harbor begins to swell.

We'll go inland where the towns are landlocked.

*

In the meantime, we'll hunker down.

We'll prepare for the storm, and try not to frown.

God help us all while the wind and rain attack

BUT AS THE TERMINATOR SAID

I'LL BE BACK!

Well written, but not so great to live through. Trust it all got sorted eventually. So glad you stayed safe.

Sounds like a terrible storm came your way. Loved the ending.

Good luck and stay safe. Think about 'familiar' things.
