Enter Center Stage
Sounds of the season

Striking silhouette
black and white
Like catching a
forbidden glimpse of fairy flight
Murmuring lights
momentarily dim
Onto the stage,
a graceful darting form
daintily alights
Bow to strings
like a match, she strikes
Warmth and sound
roar to blazing life
Vibrations heighten
inner space
Excitedly flowing
in bright, shining beams
Like the crackling
of a toasty fireplace
Inciting the ground
beneath our collective feet
To give way to the
blasting dynamite beat
Filling the visible air
with a resonant brightness
Vapor swirling
backlights reveal notes
Flitting to the plucking of strings
like snow sprites
Applause erupting
in generous requite

I wrote this after seeing Lindsey Stirling's Snow Waltz tour. I loved her entrance onto the stage. She was backlit, emerging from inside the gingerbread house set piece that the drummer and guitarist were cleverly stationed atop for most of the concert. They utilized the gingerbread house perfectly, using it as an elevated section of the stage, and as an entry/exit point. She also made great use of numerous props and costume changes, which are always exciting.
Her costuming was absolutely amazing throughout the entire show. I also thought the lighting was perfectly done, complementing each song and heightening the emotional effect. There were people of all ages enjoying the music, and absolutely having the best time. Families forming warm memories and strengthening bonds they will cherish for many years to come.
