her internal compass told her to run

in any direction to get back home

but she was deeply tangled in the mesh

of their blackened, decaying spiderweb

her vanilla skin now marred with mould

rapidly dying, now haggered and old

all hail those Kings of control and of fear

as they force her to suffer year after year
