It was just a little
neighborhood evening walk.
The sun had set,
the western sky tangerine.
I saw heaps of clouds,
indulged in pareidolia —
Carpet of marine fog
was rolling in from the ocean,
painting surreal landscape.
In the eastern sky,
the moon was rising
with illumination spectacular.
Roses and gardenias bloomed —
I stopped to inhale the fragrance.
Finch song filled the air,
swallow birds circled the sky,
as the mourning doves flew past.
I saw chrysalis on the wall,
Smell of pyracantha filled the air,
oaks loaded with catkins.
Chinese rain tree were bare,
with pods rattling in the breeze.
A simple neighborhood stroll,
but it was robust antidepressant,
filled me with ample enrichment.
Please, make nature time
part of your lifestyle too,
enjoy wellbeing, and thrive.
