Endless Hues
For those who marvel at the sublimity of the unnoticed

I once had a lover
Tell me they admired
The way I saw the world
Through expression and color
The sentiment seeming
Fanciful in nature
Nonetheless learning its
Truth in time
I see Lilac in a friend’s eyes
When they share their Dreams,
Their Hopes, Their Ideals
Eager to have an audience
Their desires becoming real
The more they are avowed
Passionate expressions of
Yellow light up the room
When a mother speaks of her child
Warm and safe- Secure from
The weight of the world
The color Red as a Lover
Leans in for a kiss the First time
Reserved and anxious
Yet, if received well
Spellbinding, Passionate and Bold
Blue when a loved one
Tells you of their sorrows
Pains and misfortune
Riddling their face
As if windows to the soul
Have swung wide open
Green when hope begins
To fill the air
And spring’s lilies make
The world feel anew
Opening a door to
Endless Possibility
Optimism, Bliss, and Longing
A subtle Rose when
You begin a romance
For the first time and
Even an alleyway feels
Like the enchanting streets
Of Paris
A shade of Grey
When all hope seems to be lost
And feelings of fear and doubt
Creep in
Presenting an opportunity
For reflection, self-love, and
Refining the canvas
We are all creating-
That of our Lives
At the time, I didn’t understand
This perspective was rare and
Select to only a few
But in a world so full of color
It is a shame to discover
How many are unaware
Of its limitless hues
