Enchanting Outdoors

Watching life outside while stuck inside

Fairness is gone

when we are being kept inside,

away from the beauty of nature.

Theory,

that is good for our well-being,

in reality,

does more damage than good.

From my window,

watching plants grow,

showing signs of spring.

Their lives beginning

and we are trapped,

longing to be outdoors

to experience the wonders

of what is outside.

Held against my will,

an attack against

what is natural.

craving for the freedom

we deserve.

Hunger for something

I missed for so long

only gets stronger

right from the start.

Nothing can compare

from the experience itself.

Not reading a book,

watching television.

Not even our imagination.

Hard to accept

to this new kind of living,

only wanting to be

playing the role,

where we are one with nature.

Bitter for the time being,

until all restraints are off.

And the outside world

will once again,

be the enchanting place

it has always been.

Author's Note: A poem I wrote of how one feels being trapped during lockdown while the outside world is calling us.
