Emotions
The Juxtaposition From Childhood to Adulthood

Emotions
Raw
Pure & simple
Never hidden
From the world
A pout
A sniffle
The full blown tantrum
No inhibitions
Stomping down the hall
Screaming at the door
On the floor
Flailing legs
Voices raised
Teddy thrown
Across the room
*****
Jaw clenched
Must control
My emotions
Keep them hidden
No one must see
The steam
Raging inside of me
The words I learned
Never to repeat
When my emotions
Overwhelm me
I smile
Nod
Pretend I’m ok
But I’m flailing
Inside
****

True, growing up doesn't mean we forget how to feel. Grownups still want to throw tantrums, we just don't want to look silly
Felt this, Our emotions are still intense, just not shown. Excellent poem.
