You were the pick me up I needed
when my heart was broke in two
You were the wind beneath my wings
when all the trust had flew
You made me laugh when times were tough
and even helped me see
But pain was just too much
we were never meant to be.
I needed looking after - I needed a strong man
You were really just for fun - I hope you understand
The laughter wasn’t enough - & you really let me down
I needed you to step up - & be my solid ground.
My world around me crumbled
there was nothing you could do
But you weren’t even there
to help me see it through
So I picked up all my pieces
and had to say goodbye
though I really do appreciate
you showing me how to fly.
Emerging strong -where I belong
singing my song - floating along
I said goodbye - was time to fly
you did me wrong - but now I'm strong.
Emerging like a butterfly
flying high as I said goodbye
from deep despair I made it through
wishing all the best to you
Goodbye old life - hello new
emerging strong - that's what I do,
Like a butterfly.
Delicate yet strong
I learned how to fly
Like a Butterfly.

An optimistic poem of hope and resilience. Very beautiful!
