Embracing Shadows
Transforming Personal Monsters into Allies.

In the labyrinth of my soul, I tread,
Where personal monsters lie, often misread,
A tapestry woven with threads of fright,
A dance of darkness and shards of light.
I gaze into the mirror, deep and true,
Reflecting the monsters, both old and new,
Their eyes meet mine, a fearsome glare,
But I shall not falter, I shall not despair.
For within these shadows, a truth concealed,
A story of wounds that need to be healed,
Monsters of anger, jealousy, and doubt,
Yearning for freedom, a way to break out.
Step one, they say, is to identify,
The monsters within, the ones that fly,
Like bats in the night, elusive and sly,
But with keen introspection, their forms won't belie.
A monster of anger, fierce and bold,
Born of past wounds, stories untold,
It surges within, a tempest's might,
But beneath its rage, a hurt takes flight.
Jealousy lurks in the corners dim,
Its whispers poison, the trust grows thin,
But as I look closer, its roots unfold,
Insecurities buried, stories of old.
In the realm of shadows, they all reside,
Monsters of ego, fear, wounded pride,
But this is not where the journey shall end,
For I am determined to comprehend.
Understanding's the key to unlocking the cage,
Where monsters are trapped, consumed by rage,
Their stories unravel, as I dare to see,
The pain that shaped them, the wounds that be.
Acknowledgment follows, a tender embrace,
As I hold these monsters, face to face,
No longer adversaries, but a part of me,
Acceptance blooms, setting my spirit free.
In the canvas of my being, they're not just flaws,
But strokes of paint in life's grand applause,
Acknowledged, they breathe, no longer concealed,
In the theater of vulnerability, they're finally revealed.
But wait, the journey doesn't end here,
For within the darkness, a transformation is near,
To harness the energy of these monsters within,
And let their power a new chapter begin.
Monsters of anger can forge a path,
To stand up for justice, to combat wrath,
With flames that ignite positive change,
Their fire can be harnessed, not estranged.
Jealousy's tendrils can be redirected,
To self-improvement, goals perfected,
A reminder to strive for what I hold dear,
Instead of comparing, I'll conquer my fear.
Fear, the oldest monster of them all,
Its claws dig deep, its shadows fall,
But when understood, it becomes a guide,
To navigate challenges, to stand with pride.
Through this journey, monsters become allies,
No longer foes, but forces that rise,
A symphony of traits, a kaleidoscope of hue,
They're part of me, a reflection that's true.
So, as I stand here, in the spotlight's grace,
I embrace my monsters, let them have their space,
In the theater of self, they take their bow,
Transformed and evolved, empowered somehow.
Personal monsters, once shrouded in night,
Now dance in the day, bathed in gentle light,
The journey continues, an ever-evolving quest,
To understand myself, and be truly blessed.
