So bright and so brilliant

Illuminating the night sky

With abundant radiance

Within the shifting phases

I look to you for guidance

When my darkness overwhelms me

As the night becomes my home

Away from tortured places

Your face is cast in shadows

When the sun eludes you

And your happiness is gone

Your persistence still amazes

Hearing all the horrid words

Against our beauty

Against our love

As they pour from ugly faces

You are my safe place

You are my home

Where I rest my head

And loosen my laces

Holding me tight

Against the night

It is your love

My heart embraces
