Embracing Flaws

A poem to embrace our flaws

In the mirror, reflections blend,

With cracks and curves that never mend,

A portrait of imperfection true,

And beauty found in every hue.

Scars and lines that tell a tale,

Of battles fought and times we fail,

Each flaw, a chapter in our book,

A closer look is all it took.

For in the fractured, there’s a light,

That shines more bright in darkest night,

Uniqueness grows where flaws reside,

A canvas painted with our pride.

Embrace the quirks, the dents, the scars,

For in them lies who we are,

A masterpiece, in fractured form,

Weathered well by life's storm.

So lift your head, and wear with grace,

The marks that time cannot erase,

For perfect lies in just one truth,

Our flaws are proof of life's own youth.

We just have to learn to accept things as they are and happen. Good job.

It is true-flaws make us who we are. This is a really nicely done piece. Reminds me a bit of John Legend's lyrics in All of Me

Now if only people didn't point them out mockingly or just left them alone to begin with.
