Fear teaches me,
It taught me, rather
How to make due with what little I had
To carry on
I don’t want fear to bring me
To create circumstances
That sound like desperation
Because I love you so, Jane
And you know that I do,
But I know you find words heavy and weak
To respond with, “Yes, we are fine,”
And that’s not what I want
I want all of you not just the “we’re fine,”
I need the sad bits of you, the angry face
The lonely parts, the gleaming and inspiring eyes you see with,
The glossy green winds that carry the fiery embers of your heart’s content,
The all of you prayers and love divine,
Because Jane,
I need you too,
And it’s not the words I want to hear, “we’re fine,”
It’s, “everything”

An old saying goes: if you don't heal what hurt you, you'll bleed on those who didn't cut you. But what good are we to each other if we can't stand the sight of blood in a world that is too often (ever is too often) so cold and cruel? I say this as someone who has cut both ways, so to speak, and lived to regret it. As always, your beautiful art also cuts deep in the best way. 🙂
This piece of writing conveys a deep and honest expression of love and the desire for emotional authenticity in a relationship.💖💓💗💖
True words, why do we ignore or rather why do we not share how we really feel.
