Election Subversion Redux

The Big Lie is back, Baby!

"...Bartiromo's spread a conspiracy theory about voting security over 20X..." -Media Matters, 10/24

What a summer for sequels 2024 was! Sadly, for American Christians who abandoned Christ's prescribed pacifism, and poverty vows, for Trump's vitriol, and vituperations, it's been more of a "Joker: Folie à Deux" summer. Once dubbed "America's Mayor" for his happenstance proximity to 9/11, Rudy Giuliani now goes by "Trump's latest, and greatest, mark." The lies he bellowed on TV, lies he dared not whisper under oath, cost Rudy two law licenses. But that's not all it cost him: In addition to a jersey once owned by Joe DiMaggio, and a Mercedes-Benz once owned by Lauren Bacall, a judge ordered Rudy to forfeit his NYC co-op to two election workers he repeatedly defamed. While making baseless claims that 2020's presidential election was stolen, rigged, or otherwise compromised, Giuliani falsely accused Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss of miscounting ballots, concealing ballots, and tampering with voting machines. A flood of death threats followed his calumny. Freeman and Moss sued. A Washington jury awarded them $146-148 million.

Not two months ago, FOX Business' Maria Bartiromo, before an estimated viewership of 279,000, claimed to have heard about a DMV, crammed with illegal immigrants casting fraudulent votes, from "a friend of a friend's wife." Bartiromo neither named her source, nor explained why her source's far-fetched yarn should be believed by anyone fortunate enough to have been born with a standard-issue Homo sapien's brain. Bartiromo never asked why the Democrats whom she claimed, whole cloth, ran the operation, had done, literally, nothing to hide it from view.

Strangely, Bartiromo said naught about authorities descending upon the DMV in question after she'd broken the story, or after any of the 19 times she repeated the claim after the fact. Stranger still, she made no mention of having contacted authorities to learn how a voter fraud-themed theme park was operating, seemingly with impunity, in blood-red Texas, of all places. Most damning of all, state sources confirmed that there is/was no DMV operating in the city Bartiromo named as ground zero for this Right-Wing fever dream. A better title for Bartiromo's segment would have been, "Last Year, The Political Right's Premiere Misinformation, and Disinformation, Foundry Was Court-Ordered to Pay the Largest Defamation Lawsuit in US History. Why History is Doomed to Repeat Itself." Bartiromo's segment was just another example of the Big Lie, Part II, paving the way for J6, Part II, lest American-style democracy waylay MAGA's agenda again. Luckily, for domestic tranquility's sake, Democrats forgot to rig this election. Unlike the last one, wherein they stole the White House, but counterproductively flipped a Senate seat red, in addition to awarding their adversaries 12 new seats in Congress!
