Eid Memories: Celebrating with those We've Lost

Finding Sweet Happiness in Bittersweet Times

By Tamseela FarooqPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

As the moon rises high in the sky,
And the night is filled with joy and delight,
We gather together, with hearts full of love,
To celebrate Eid ul Fitr, a festival of light.

But as we revel in the laughter and cheer,
We can't help but think of those who aren't here,
Those who left us too soon, and those far away,
Whose absence we feel on this joyous day.

Yet in the midst of our sorrow and pain,
We find solace in the memories we retain,
Of Eid celebrations from years gone by,
When our loved ones were with us, side by side.

We recall the sweet happiness of those times,
The fragrance of flowers, the sound of chimes,
The taste of sweet treats, the warmth of embrace,
The love and the laughter that filled every space.

And though they may be gone, their spirit lives on,
In the love that we share, in the joy that we spawn,
In the memories that we hold so dear,
And the hope that they're watching, from somewhere near.

So let us celebrate this Eid ul Fitr,
With grateful hearts, and spirits that glitter,
And honor the loved ones we've lost,
By keeping their memories alive, at any cost.
