The photo of the wild daisies reminded me of egg yolks, and it screamed out: HAIKU. Hope you like it. I write nature haikus. - AC

From Oxford Languages Definitions: hai·ku /ˈhīˌko͞o/noun - a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world.

Not only the fabulous fern, but also the delightful daisy, captured in a single haiku. Don't think I have ever seen them together so fab photo too. Really well done and among the best haiku I have read

There’s something so serene and painterly about this one. ‘Egg blooms’ is such a unique and lovely phrase—it stuck with me. I’m making my way through all the entries now, and yours brought a real sense of calm. Thank you for sharing it!

Well-wrought! As usual, I come for the poetry but I stay linger on the picture. The way the white daisies poke out of the green brush with the shadowed presence of the trees in the background gives it the quality of a painting!

  • Oh wow, they do look like eggs hehehehe. Loved your Haiku and photo!
