I am Edgar, the poetic dreamer

I know you are sinking beyond the catacombs of our weighty sea,

Anabelle Lee,

I know you are sinking not knowing

The silence

And how it’s drowning me

It sounds like a painful ballad, and I so dearly want to save you

Save myself,

Save us,

Just know I, your ever loyal author,

Looks upon the moon hoping you are looking at it secretly too,

It was not you,

Your golden verse kept me alive,

But I have a raven keeping me from you

A dark raven

It’s large black wings covering our gold and silver verse

And I can still smell that lemon kiss

It’s my secret wish.

And darling

No …a heartbreak

Is not a better muse,

Edgar loves Anabelle Lee wholly,

Not half broken,

A poet can only dream.(as a ghost you so rightly called me, as I feel like one)

Love this and the allusion to Poe. This is what good writing does--it carries on a conversation, finding similarities in themes through time.
