Echoes of the Past

Facing Your Scars

By Erin PerezPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In the quiet corners of my mind,

Where shadows stretch and intertwine,

The echoes of a distant time,

Whisper tales of days unkind.

Beneath the weight of yesteryears,

I’ve walked through endless, silent fears,

Each step a journey through the haze,

Seeking light in fractured days.

The wounds of childhood, deep and raw,

Formed a web without a flaw,

Yet through the threads of hurt and pain,

I’ve found a way to break the chain.

With each new dawn, I learn to mend,

To face the scars and comprehend,

That though the past has left its mark,

It’s not the sum of who I am.

In tender moments, soft and still,

I nurture hope, I find the will,

To rise above the darkest sea,

And weave a future, wild and free.

The echoes fade, though they remain,

A reminder of the strength gained,

For in the cracks, the light breaks through,

And healing starts anew.
