Echoes of the Heart
Poems on Love and Longing

Dear Mother Nature,
I hope this letter finds you well,
As I sit and ponder, I can't help but dwell,
On the state of our planet, our home,
And how we have allowed it to become so unknown.
The air is polluted, the waters are tainted,
The earth is pillaged, its resources drained,
We have been greedy, we have been blind,
To the impact we have had, the damage we have signed.
The animals are dying, the forests are shrinking,
The climate is changing, temperatures rising,
We have been reckless, we have been careless,
With the beauty and balance that you so generously share with us.
But it's not too late, we can still make a change,
We can mend our ways, we can rearrange,
Our priorities, our habits, our very lifestyle,
And restore the harmony, the balance, the smile.
We can use renewable energy, reduce our waste,
Plant more trees, and preserve open space,
We can recycle, reuse, and repair,
And show more compassion, love, and care.
I know it won't be easy, it won't be quick,
But we owe it to you, to ourselves, and to the future to stick,
To our commitment, to our responsibility, to our duty,
And create a world that's sustainable, just, and truly beauty.
So thank you, Mother Nature, for your patience, your resilience,
For your forgiveness, your generosity, your brilliance,
I promise to do my part, to spread the word,
And inspire others to join, to act, to be heard.
Sincerely,
Your admirer and ally.
