"Love's First Gaze"

From across the room

By Jananan SandajeshanPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

From across the room, our eyes did meet,

A spark ignited, so soft and sweet.

In that moment, time stood still,

My heart raced, and my soul did fill.

With a longing, a desire, to know this one,

To feel their touch, to bask in the sun,

Of their love, so pure and true,

To know if they feel it too.

Our gaze held, unbroken still,

As if the world had lost its will,

To keep us apart, to hold us back,

From the love that we both lacked.

And as I stepped, closer still,

To this stranger, this one I will,

Always remember, as the one,

Who stole my heart, before the sun.

Could set, on that fateful day,

When love at first sight came my way,

And I knew, without a doubt,

That this was what love was all about.

From across the room, we found our way,

To each other, in the light of day,

And I knew, deep down inside,

That this love, would never subside.

For it was written in the stars above,

That we would find, this thing called love,

And from that moment, we both knew,

That our love, would forever be true.
