Echoes of Laughter

When the Jokes End, the Silence Begins

By Babar khanPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In a room full of laughter, they crack the best jokes,

But when the crowd disperses, it’s just them and their hopes.

Witty comebacks dance on the tip of their tongue,

Yet the silence that follows feels heavy, unsung.

They make the world laugh, but who makes them smile?

Behind every punchline lies a heart feeling fragile.

Their sarcasm sparkles, a shield they can wield,

But inside, they wonder if anyone's healed.

They throw parties for one, with snacks on the floor,

Where the only guest is a Netflix encore.

Their humor is bright, a lighthouse in the night,

Yet they often feel lost, searching for light.

So they laugh a little louder, hoping to be seen,

A funny mask hiding the spaces in between.

In the world of the witty, where laughter’s the goal,

Sometimes it’s the jesters who feel most alone in their soul.
