A Lament for a Land in Perpetual Night

In Gaza's shadowed streets, where hope once gleamed,
A land now echoes cries, dreams torn and screamed.
Beneath a sky of smoke, where stars don’t shine,
The children play in dust, where sorrow’s sign.

Walls bear the scars of lives once bright and bold,
Stories of a peace now fragile, cold.
Mothers weep for sons they cannot hold,
In Gaza’s breath, the pain, the loss unfold.

Olive trees stand silent, roots entwined in grief,
Land of broken promises, of stolen belief.
The sea whispers lullabies, soft, forlorn,
To a city caught in night, yearning dawn.

Oh Gaza, cradle of endless strife,
Where hope fights through the darkest life,
May your tears one day be kissed by light,
And peace return to end your night.
