Echoes of Desire

Wishing to See, Yet Fearing the Truth

I wish to see you, just once more,

But in my heart, I wish it’s not what I adore.

For love, it lingers in the air,

A quiet longing, deep despair.

To feel your gaze, to touch your hand,

Yet knowing love is not to command.

Sometimes, desires are best unseen,

Like whispers floating in between.

For if we meet, will we remain?

Or fade like dreams that feel the same?

To love and lose is pain profound,

But silence speaks the truth unbound.

So here I stand, torn in two,

I wish to see, but not to pursue.

A love so deep, it knows its place,

In distant hearts, yet filled with grace.

Yet the distance is the price we pay,

For love that keeps us far away.

I wish for you, but not the cost,

For in this wish, we both are lost.
