Ebony and Ignorance
The Superintendent is Very Sarcastic

I just received my Masters, glad to meet you, my name’s “Joe”
My diploma is for English, so what’s out there, I don’t know
I’m done with education, moved away from Idaho
Took a job near Baton Rouge where they have never seen it snow
I’ve come here teaching Language cos I love to see kids grow
This course had not been offered so I’ll introduce it slow
Today I met this beauty at my south side grocery stoe
When I saw this ethnic goddess I said, “Pleeze, I’ll ho de doe”
Something had come over me that made her powers grow
I hollered, “Gurl, you gorgeous, can I git dem digits, yo”
My speech was somehow different, is it racist, maybe so
But there she stood, all lookin good, my white face all aglow
“I be comin here fo weeks but I ain’t seen you here befoe
But you be lookin hot so let me call you afta foe”
On the back of her receipt she wrote her digits down below
She said, “Just call me later, but fa now I gots to go”
I told her that I’m teaching at the High School, ‘Fred Monroe’
So sista don’t you worry cos I’ll holla back, fa sho”
She said, “I’m having cocktails, but tomorrow, axe fo ‘Flo’
I’m the “Super” of the high schools in a district that you’ll know”
