Earthworms

will never be considered gourmet

By Joseph D HamiltonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Earthworms will never be considered gourmet

And I wouldn’t expect to find them on my lunch tray

But overall, they don’t taste quite so bad

And once you get past the wriggling, you’ll enjoy them a tad

Try them with milk on a warm summer day

Or with hubba bubba on a spring night in May

They can be very festive if you give them a try

I’ve developed a craving and its plain to see why

My brother suggested them to me without really a choice

But once I did try them, I ate them and rejoiced

Of course, he held me down and made me do it at first

But I found that I enjoyed them, they weren’t the worst

Across your tongue they wriggle and wiggle and slide

But they aren’t half bad once you get them inside

They go really fast with your brother holding you down

You’ll get use to them in a hurry and you won’t even frown.

Earth worms are delicious, a wonder, a delight

At first I resisted and I ate them in fright

But once I finished chewing and swallowed them down

I enjoyed eating more without even a frown.
