My blades of grass are your stars in the sky

By Marti MaleyPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

even though i don’t care much about astronomical phenomena

(cause i’ve never been very good at math, physics, or chemistry)

lately i’ve been finding myself staring tentatively at the sky more

(i used to avoid looking, cause to be honest, the cosmos frightens me)

perhaps now that i’m old, i can handle speculating about the universe

(space always seemed something that humans had no business deducing)

eclipse, you say? hm. maybe i was correct to gaze humbly at the grass
