Lives lost to the element

The world bows at your feet.

Volcanos erupt, as did your heart.

Oceans flood, as your mind did too.

Trees empty their leaves,

As your veins emptied your blood.

A great fog rolled about, and your lungs had no option but to inhale.

Blackened clouds closed in,

Hovering above,

blocking the light from your eyes,

As they clouded at the sight.

The temperature rose,

too many degrees.

Bringing the earth to charcoal, and your soul to sleep.

Chest to chest,

Dying to protect.

Spreading fast, too fast to escape.

Trapping you in that cavern plateau.

Silent or not, we’ll never know.

The sky stole two more stars too soon.

Skin, to flesh, to ash.

Awake, to sleep, to peace.

A peace not worth the price.

Stardust, remade human, returns to its place.

Persons to bodies.

The days seemed darker,

As the nights brightened with your presence.

The world bows at your feet.

It’s deemed you served your time in this fleet.
