Voices ring and sing; lighting my eyes on fire.

The ground is shaking; making my legs feel like jelly.

My nose burns with strange new smells; floral and death.

Ash coats my tonged; layered with a chalky flavored dust.

I look left and right; but all I see is bright red flame and deep black smoke.

Lane Burns

I am a Poet and an inspiring short story, one day novel writer.

I like to write in free verse mostly, but am heavily inspired by Emily Dickenson, and tend to create my own rules and ideas as well.

Volcanic eruption? Widespread fires? Whichever and whatever it is, this sounds quite terrifying.
