Earning and Cost of Living

Not matching, and causing stress

I feel unsettled, raising kids

in these costly, unstable times.

Houses are smart, with device,

things break, without warning.

Money is needed, for fixing.

New month, new billing —

not enough earning,

I am sad, and struggling.

Humans need security,

but where is sustainability?

I try to embrace frugality,

to feel some financial control —

but it’s still very scary.

I guess it’s a common problem,

for most of us,

devoid of generational wealth,

or reluctant to earn unethically.

Hard academic work of decades,

seems redundant in current era,

Confidence is bruised, and bleak

I don't see optimism spark.

I feel like a sinking boat

while battered by a storm,

with no respite in sight.

How do you deal with

such modern society plight?
