Beginnings And Ends

drenched in hesitation

as the seasons pirouette

adopting the transition

giving way to first and final breaths

the ending of a form

completely changing to another

as practiced and performed

like a child leaving its mother

the hardening of the grass

frozen in gausy, shivered fashion

the nonchalant, "this too will pass"

as each season displays its attraction

the stiffening of the breeze

freezing each droplet in its place

the stripping of the trees

as each leaf leaves its warm embrace

the rustle of the stragglers

dressed up in new formed frost

a one time season traveler

laid to rest in winter's gloss

crunching into pieces

absorbed as the dormant soil feeds

finding new life as it releases

to live again in early spring
