one day i’ll return to the forest and then to the sea, where my soul glows and ripples.

the fog rolling in across the bitter cliffs and ancient stones, the gulls crying out over the echo of waves and wind.

i’ll reach down into the clouds and pull out your eyes, open and knowing, when they fall from my grip, the water will know what true peace is.

the crashing, the crawling up the coastline, the everlasting immortality of wavering oneness.

again, the moon, in all her purity, will pull the tides up around her breath, and release the glowing lightness of her very core.

through the night, under the calling of the breeze, i float amongst the hawthorns, i creep silently over bracken and nettle and dirt.

my skin burning, hot, with the longing of what i once had, the grieving eyes of you, brushing solemnly over the landscape, always watching.

my dreams are filled with discovery, a treasure pressed into the milky-palms of my hands.

a gift i would hold on to, and never desert, for if i had, i would scream and scream until dawn ceased to exist.
