watch me fly beyond my edges — dash outside the lines

paint a mural of expansion — spiral upward undefined

see me cut threads of a loop wound tight around my mind

untangling knots of limitation — unshackling their bind

hear my voice ring out in victory as i rise up from the depths

see my spirit slash the chains i secured with my own grip

watch me swing open the door of the cage i’ve trapped me in

burn down all the fences i built to keep me in

see me shed old ways of thought — tear past patterns i once lived

break through a new timeline — emerge in brand new skin

watch me run beyond the border i drew with my own pen

breathe new air outside the vortex i’ve been spinning in

see me tear off scripted blinders — mute the battle hymn

un-write all of the verses i refuse to sing again

watch my ascent on wings of courage as I rise out of my thorns

soaring vast horizons — watch me be reborn

About the Creator

Kristen Balyeat

Words fly to me on the wind, bump into me as I'm strolling the city, splash me in the face while I rest by the river, and shake me awake in the middle of the night—I’m humbly one of the vessels they use to come to life.

Also, i love you:)

A fierce unveiling of self beyond the limits drawn by fear— each word a wing, each verse a flight toward liberation.

This piece is absolutely stunning — such powerful, liberating energy in every line! 🌟 I love how you capture the process of breaking free from self-imposed limits with both strength and grace. The imagery is so vivid — from cutting threads and swinging open doors to soaring on wings of courage, it feels like a personal revolution unfolding in poetry. One of my favorite parts is “watch me run beyond the border I drew with my own pen” — that hit deep. It’s a beautiful reminder of how often we’re our own gatekeepers, and how powerful it is when we choose freedom. Truly inspiring work — thank you for sharing it!
