Dying While You're Alive
The poetry of a girl with mental illnesses who fell in love with a heroin addict.

I really felt our love could conquer anything
And one day I’d wear a wedding ring
I ask you to just say anything
But your lips whisper nothing at all
As I jump from the fifth floor
I say catch me
Come on
Catch me
But I just fall
I can’t blame you for my own demise
When your pride is such a big size
And I question
What is it
You wanted me to realize
As I keep saying I’m going to try
And try and try and try
But all I do is lay down and cry
And from the fifth floor I fly
And you just sit in your silence and pride
As you watch me bleed out and die
