Dumbo Poet

Little Brown Boy

By kevin ortizPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

My name description

Indicates I was born in a place where the rainbows stay

The silver lining in my clouds

Say I’m dampened but I’m proud

Cus my lot is like the pot

Where the rainbows drain

Warm like the hues of happiness and love

Cold like the hues

That trap me in a rut

Purple cus I’m both

And I’m royalty

That’s toiling

From soils

Brown beige

Like the soils that I’m from

Momma gave me Seoul

Father was from port

That enriched me and arrayed me

With allotments of the sorts

That could sing soft soliloquies

From anywhere on spectrum

My covers read: “destined,

but allotted for the wars”

Im a book meant for colors,

Yet to be created

Both the brush and the canvas

That was Meant to be invaded

For mosaics

I’m a montage

Layered with the beauty

Of a beast..

Whose story

Is valid but archaic

Korean.

Puerto Rican.

Warrior and a poet

Black tea to mediate

Coffee when I’m stoic

Camo cus I blend like chameleons in the sun

Odds of being born 400 trillion versus one

So I’m red like the fire of my passion

When I’m graspin’

That my colors could’ve muted

If my chances would’ve swung

I’m like fried green tomatoes

That appear burnt orange

Akin to the tilings of roofings built in Florence

I’m like Thorin

I’ve been shielded

By the oaken of my trees

Maple cus there’s sweetness in the sadness that I seethe
