Drive in a car

Poem

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

drive in a car

You by my side

Windows all down,

Swish!

Wind cuts through our laughs,

Our hair swoons up in the air, like your smile

Dreams like a drive in a car

Going nowhere

Going somewhere

Going to a bookstore

Going to a dreamland

My heart piles up like a car crash

My heart crashes every time

Coated in a hollow

Can

Compressed air, like how you feel

It’s not original, but you know it’s real

Driving in a car,

On a long black road

It’s comforting

To not know where it leads

Because you’re by my side

I whisper in your ear on the way

Pulling your hair over,

Nothing is said twice.
