Drifting Away

By Brianna Galligan

By Brianna Lynn GalliganPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

And she jumped into the sea

To escape her pain .

To escape the hardships .

The waves swallowed her

Until nothing showed

Except lucid foam .

She drifted in the water ,

Sinking down into

A quiet solitude .

Unaware of the world above .

Unaware of her sorrow .

Unaware of time .

She drifted and sighed

As water filled her lungs

Connecting her once again

To the element of her youth.

Her tears mingled with the ocean .

Her hair lilting around her form ,

Caressing her cheeks

And hiding her pain

Created ghostly images in the depths.

The world, so far away

Became but a memory,

As she also became a memory of it.

Tomorrow never comes but always does.
