Drew Drops at Dawn

A poem.

By Renee ChardonnayPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Dew drops at dawn

She lay on dandelions

In the sky she sees

Ascending stairs of clouds

Glorious golden rays glisten

And gently grasp her hand

A pretty and pleasant presence

Politely calls her

Careful and cautious

She crawls to her feet

Beautiful blue blossoms bestowed at each step

Bringing her beyond the ground below

Too close to the top

Take some time to stop

Frantic and fearful as she freefalls

Flowers fly everywhere

Without any word of warning

White light weighs on her

Hushed hums of unknown voices hover above her

“She’s lucky to have been found”

Covered in dew drops in the lawn

Where she laid at dawn.
