Dreams of Loss

I had this nightmare,

It was like being swallowed whole,

I watched you disappear into the darkness,

I couldn't take the feeling that came over me,

I felt empty,

I felt cold,

It was like my soul had just died,

It felt like what i'd imagine a literal death feeling like,

I couldn't move,

I collapsed onto the ground,

I couldn't breathe,

I stared into the night sky that seemed to appear above me,

As I did I let out a scream,

Screams of sorrow,

Screams of Pain,

Screams like a Banshee in the night,

Where did you go?

Why did you leave?

I couldn't understand either question,

But it became apparent that I now had a literal fear,

This fear could kill me and leave this body just a shell,

This fear was losing you.
