Dreams & Reality
What is so wistful, can be yours.

We sing songs about old legends,
From past memories to sombre reflections,
And craving a light-hearted soul.
Grasping at straws life has in store for you,
A glimpse of the end-goal sight you hope you knew;
But is it bad or just too good to be true?
In times of youth, dreams dazzle your eyes.
So wistful is slumber.
The rumbling of your brain, casting light through the gutter.
And what opens up is the endless void,
Choked with a flurry of emotions.
Sucking cruel, endless, wicked imaginations.
Flashes spurning, to keel you over.
Mindfuls of what can and cannot be, taken ahold.
Relishing at thoughts of such silly delights;
Then take a breath, arms wrapped tight against yourself.
Wishes only work,
When you can wish upon a star.
And day by day does the time really fly.
Your worth feels spent, all time has sent,
Those dreams become figment-like flies.
Enjoyment swept as ages go by.
Merriment shifting; responsibilities shaping.
Suffering imperil. Hunger persisting.
The joys are small, but opportunities are thriving.
A never-ending story, and what you thought could be signs.
Might only be left with yet sullen sighs.
Your tears spent, the twist takes a turn.
Submerging yourself in scorn and thorns.
Tearing the heart and picking at holes,
Hoping that you're never too gone.
But nevertheless the soul ever grows;
Inhibit that, and all the waves sink low.
Drifting, shifting do the sands of time fly by.
But never leave it too late to say goodbye.
Inhale, then take an end as a new door.
Scurry on the floor, with raw palms that form claws.
With heavy sway, desperation should bring forth a new turn.
And let your mind lie, let fate hang dry,
And jump out of your rabbit hole.
Grasp at what you wholly desire.
For in the end, the possibilities are endless;
Let see fit what you want in dreams, become yours.
