Dreaming of You

Lonely Nights

By Mercedes ChavezPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

I lie still in bed

Watching the speeding lights from cars as they pass by

The shadows dance around the room

The only sound to be heard, the steady beat of my heart

Your hand, lightly traces up my thigh

Wrapping your arm around my waist

Pulling me in closer

You snuggle against the back of my head

I hear you inhale deeply

Feeling your body finally relax

Our hearts begin to beat in sync

I turn to press my lips against yours one last time for the night

But you're not really here...

Only the memory of countless nights with you

Falling asleep in your arms

My safe place

I clench my pillow to my chest

One single tear falls

I finally drift off

Dreams filled with only you
